Get an immune boosting shot direct from Nature with just two fresh ingredients. This sugar-free ginger and lemon shot will revitalize and invigorate you, giving you a healthy boost for the day.
Store-bought shots usually contain preservatives, sugar and other nasties. They are also usually at least a couple days old which degrades the goodness and the taste that you get when you make it fresh in your own kitchen.
Ingredients
You only need two ingredients: fresh ginger root and a fresh lemon.
Are you thinking about adding some type of sweetener? Don’t do it. It isn’t necessary. It doesn’t make a difference whether it’s honey, sugar or Zevia, all sweeteners boost your insulin levels and play havoc with your blood sugar levels.
The flavors of fresh lemon and ginger are strong and have a zing and that’s great! You really don’t need everything to taste sweet. There are other flavor profiles that you can enjoy, and they’re healthier.
Method
Rinse the ginger root. Remove the skin and chop it finely. Then rinse a lemon, remove the rind and the pith, slice into quarters and remove the pips. Then dice the lemon finely.
Measure half a scoop of chopped ginger and half a scoop of chopped lemon into the blending compartment. Always ensure not to overfill the compartment by keeping the ingredients below the Max line.
Remove the water tank and fill it with ice water before replacing it.
TIP: Be sure to add any juice that may have escaped while chopping the ginger and lemon into the water tank to add extra flavor.
Position the Milky Plant bottle under the nozzle and press the start button. It takes only 3 minutes for your Milky Plant to work it’s magic!

Ingredients
- ½ scoop ginger root
- ½ scoop fresh lemon
Instructions
- Chop the ginger root finely.
- Skin the lemon and remove the pips, then cut it finely, saving all the juice.
- Add ½ scoop ginger root and ½ scoop of lemon to the blending compartment.
- Ensure you don't overfill the compartment.
- Fill the water tank with ice water.
- Place the bottle under the nozzle.
- Press the start button.
- Remove the bottle and chill for 20 minutes.
