Since Lets DoOrganic Cornstarch has twice the thickening power of flour, when a recipe calls for flour use half as much organic cornstarch to thicken the recipe. One tablespoon of cornstarch equals two tablespoons flour. Note: Cornstarchmay clump when mixed directly into hot liquids. To avoid clumping, stir organic cornstarch into an equal amount of cold water to make a slurry, mix it into the liquid you want to thicken and heat as necessary.
